In Twisted Trumpets you build the most remarkable trumpet in the whole kingdom. Whoever puts together the craziest, most twisting instrument gets to call themselves Royal Horn Blower. You place tile after tile and watch your trumpet make ever stranger bends, a little like the wondrous world of Dr. Seuss. Decorate it with flags, birds and musical notes to score as many points as possible. Each turn you choose from three actions: take a plain pipe tile from the stack, swap for a nicer face-up tile, or add tiles to your player board. Along the way you try to be the first to complete one of the three Royal Orders for extra points. You also collect secret objective cards, the Queen's Plans, which challenge you to build your trumpet in a certain way. As soon as you cover certain spaces, bonuses are released: a free tile, two extra actions or another secret card. But watch out, because every bonus gets weaker after you use it. Timing makes all the difference here. The game ends when someone has filled almost their entire board. After that everyone gets one final round. Then you add up your points based on the length of your pipes, your flag sequences, notes around birds and the goals you achieved. Whoever has the most points wins and becomes the new Royal Horn Blower. A cheerful building game for 2 to 4 players, in which no two trumpets are ever the same.
