The Witches of Cernégula

Deep in a small lake near Cernégula, a village in Spain, witches are said to have gathered to work their magic. In this game you step into the role of such a witch. No frogs' legs or goats' hooves in your cauldron, though. These witches cook with herbs and go for the tastiest potions. Whoever brews the most and best drinks wins. Each round you first go looking for herbs. You turn your cauldron on your own board so that the ladle, the carrot leaves and the snake's head point exactly at the herbs you want. Handy, but you will not always find enough of what you are after. So think carefully before you turn. Of each herb you may keep only three green tokens. Collect more and you take red tokens, which cost you minus points at the end. After that you get cooking. In your cauldron you make potions, whole or half ones, and you use magical powers to get ahead. Every power you use costs you points at the end, so choose carefully when to strike. The Witches of Cernégula is for two to four players and takes about forty five minutes. A lovely game to brew and puzzle together, and to find out who is the cleverest witch at the table.
