The One Hundred Torii

Step into a beautiful Japanese garden and find your own way past fountains, flowers and sacred spots. In The One Hundred Torii you travel from place to place and try to walk through as many torii gates as possible. Every gate brings you closer to the extraordinary, just as in Japanese tradition. Along the way you meet poets, gardeners, samurai, merchants and geisha, and each of them can help you on your journey. The game is all about laying tiles. Every turn the garden grows a little further and new paths keep appearing. Travel between places that look alike and earn points for the gates you pass along the way. Do you visit the same place often, or keep talking to the same character? That gives you extra benefits. No two games play out the same, because the road to the most points can lie somewhere different each time. The One Hundred Torii is played with one to four players and takes about an hour. The mood is calm and yet it is exciting to play. Once the last tile has been taken, everyone gets one more turn and then counts their travel points. A lovely game to daydream over together while competing for the win.
