The Bloody Inn

France, 1831. In a remote corner of the Ardèche lies the village of Peyrebeille, where travellers pass through every day. A family of greedy farmers has come up with a dark plan to get rich: they open an inn to rob unsuspecting guests. And the police? They must never find out, of course. One thing is certain: not every guest leaves this inn alive. In The Bloody Inn you take on the role of a member of this sinister innkeeping family. At the start of each round you fill the inn with guests. Every guest costs you a number of cards from your hand to do something with them. You can bribe a guest to become an accomplice, build an annex to hide a body under later, or get rid of a guest. After that you bury your victims and pocket their money. Watch out though: you are not allowed to carry too much cash, so sometimes you have to launder your loot through the local notary. There is also a risk to this gruesome work. If there is a police officer among the guests at the end of the round, an investigation follows. If you still have unburied bodies lying around, you pay a hefty sum to have the gravedigger make them disappear quickly and quietly. Whoever has saved up the most francs after the final round wins the game. Exciting, dark and deliciously mean to play together.
