Takenoko

This edition is in French and Dutch. In Takenoko you step into the role of a Japanese gardener with a special assignment. The emperor entrusts you with the care of his beautiful gardens, and that is quite a job. You lay out new plots, bring water through the irrigation channels and let the bamboo grow calmly upwards. Every choice counts, because of course you want to rise high in the emperor's esteem. But you are not alone in the garden. A cute panda lives there too, and he craves fresh bamboo all day long. While you do your best to make everything bloom beautifully, he happily nibbles at your plants. The objective cards show the wishes you have to fulfil, so you keep thinking about your next move. That way you play towards that one moment when everything falls into place. With its colourful tiles, wooden bamboo stalks and the endearing panda, Takenoko looks wonderful on the table. The game is accessible enough for children from eight years old, but offers enough choices to keep adults interested too. Perfect for a pleasant afternoon with two to four players.
