Scrabble

Seven letters on your rack, an empty board in front of you, and the puzzling begins. In Scrabble it is all about making words. You lay down your letters, link up with what is already on the board, and collect points. Some squares on the board give you extra points, so the trick is to grab them at the right moment. What makes this game so much fun is the puzzling during your turn. You spot a great word, but wait: if you place it there, you give your opponent access to that bonus square. So you shuffle a few letters around and look for a better spot. That keeps every turn exciting and makes you think one step ahead. Scrabble is for two to four players and is suitable from ten years old. A game takes about an hour and a half, just enough time to sit together at the table and find out who comes up with the best words. A true classic that never gets boring.
