Publisher: Decision Games (I)
October 1806. Napoleon's Grande Armée moves through western Saxony in several columns. The Saxons and their stronger Prussian allies gather to give battle. On 10 October, the vanguard of a French column runs head on into the vanguard of the allies. In Saalfeld: Prelude to Jena, 10 October 1806 you are in charge of this short but exciting encounter. The forces are exactly equal in strength. That makes every choice matter. A French victory opens the door to driving the allies apart. If the allies win, the flank of the other French columns comes under threat. The clock is ticking for both sides, and that pressure leads to tough decisions at the table. This game is meant for one or two players and takes about an hour. Perfect for an evening together over the map, where not the strongest but the sharpest player comes out on top. Whoever best understands the strong and weak points of both armies celebrates the win.
