Ruins of Mars

The year is 2179 and things look bleak on Earth. Years of pollution have scarred the landscape and resources are almost gone. Many people have given up hope, but a group of brave explorers travels to Mars. There they hope to find answers. What happened to the ancient civilisations that once lived on the red planet? And can that knowledge still save Earth? In Ruins of Mars you go in search of wisdom. You try to understand the languages of vanished Martian peoples and recreate their technology. Around the board lie five locations and eleven shared action tiles. On your turn you choose a spot, sometimes shift a tile and carry out an action. After that you move the tiles in a way that recalls the game mancala. This changes the board every time, so you have to think carefully about your next step. Along the way you learn the Martian languages, discover ancient technology and build up your own knowledge. But watch out for radiation, because too much of it costs you points at the end. Ruins of Mars plays with one to four players and takes about two hours. A game for fans who love depth and want to puzzle together over the fate of Earth.
