Louis XV rules France, and attending his lavish balls is the height of fashion. That is where you need to be, because that is where important celebrities dress up in extravagant gowns and elegant frock coats. They all want to outdo each other in elegance and grace. Welcome to Rococo Deluxe!
In just a few weeks, Louis XV will host the last Grand Ball of the season, and everyone is calling out for an elegant frock coat here, a luxurious gown there, or even a small sum to help pay for the big fireworks display.
You soon realise that this is not only about your tailoring business; it is about creating a presence at the most prestigious ball of the era and the chance to gain lasting fame and prestige.
In Rococo: Deluxe Edition you own a renowned tailoring business that is trying to grow its standing. Each turn you play an employee card that lets you carry out a task, such as hiring a new member of staff, tailoring beautiful gowns and frock coats to rent out or sell, or funding some of the many decorations.
Employees cannot always perform every task, so you have to plan carefully how you direct them, especially because each employee gives a unique bonus, including some that generate prestige.
The Grand Ball ends after seven rounds with a huge fireworks display and the final scoring. You earn prestige points for the luxurious gowns and frock coats you rented out to guests at the ball, for certain employee bonuses, and for the festive decorations you funded. Whoever has collected the most prestige at the end of the game wins.
Rococo Deluxe includes the previously released Jewelry Box expansion, the Festivity Dresses expansion and the Fancy Dresses promo, as well as a new expansion for the solo mode, "Madame du Barry". This version of Rococo includes changes compared to the previous edition of the base game, along with premium components, including:
