Quiddler

In Quiddler it is all about building words with the cards in your hand. Each card shows one or two letters, plus a number of points. Sounds simple, but the game keeps getting more exciting: in the first round you get three cards, then four, then five, and so on until the last round, when you have to place quite a few letters. For eight rounds you puzzle, shuffle your cards around and look for that one word that just fits. On your turn you draw a card and discard one. Can you make words with all your cards, with one left over to discard? Then you lay them on the table and the round is almost over. The others get one last chance, and then it is time to count. Points for the letters you used, minus points for whatever is still in your hand. Whoever has the most words or plays the longest word also picks up ten bonus points. Quiddler plays with two to eight players, and thanks to the solo variant you can even play on your own. It is the kind of game you simply want to pick up again, because next time you want to play those letters just a little bit better. Perfect for the kitchen table, with children from eight years old or with friends who love words.
