Pollen

In Pollen you build a blooming garden together. On your turn you place cards to attract butterflies, bees and June beetles. But watch out: your opponent wants exactly the same pollinators. Whoever claims the best spots scores the most points. The game looks calm and gentle, with lovely artwork by Beth Sobel. But looks can be deceiving. Under all those flowers a fierce battle is going on. You need to lead in one type of pollinator to count at all, while also building up points with the other types. That balance makes every turn exciting, right up to the last card. Pollen is a two-player game designed by the well-known Reiner Knizia. A game takes about fifteen minutes, so you will easily set up another one. Great for a cosy moment together, whether you are new to board games or love a solid tactical challenge.
