This is the Dutch-language edition. Pick-a-Pen: Tuinen is a game in the Pick-a-Pen series by the well-known designer Reiner Knizia and comes with score sheets in 3 increasing levels of difficulty. On score sheets 2 and 3 you will find flowers and trees, which can earn you extra bonus points in different ways.
In this series of games you actually roll pencils. This makes many different game mechanisms possible with the same components. But in every game, colouring in spaces is central. Will you score the most points?
Fill gardens with a single colour, or with 5 different ones. Add matching flowers and trees, and score the most points!
You each have a score sheet of the same level, on which you colour in outlined gardens. The start player first rolls all the pencils, each of which has a different colour. Their sides show different numbers. These show how many spaces you may colour in that colour on your score sheet.
On your turn, you choose a pencil and colour in the given number of spaces. They must be next to each other, and also next to groups you coloured earlier. In this way you try to fill each garden with 1 colour or with 5 different colours. If you manage that, you may colour in bonus points on your sheet. The game ends when one of the players has completely coloured in all their gardens or has been unable to colour in 5 times.
