Long ago, five peoples shared the fertile land of the Hidden Regions. Elves, mages, dwarves, halflings and humans lived side by side in peace, although the contest for fame and wealth grew ever fiercer. When a surprise goblin attack from the sea destroyed the old peace, the survivors fled by ship to an empty, unknown land. There they started over. The old rivalry remained, but this time they hoped the struggle would not bring disaster. They called their new world Pandoria. In Pandoria you explore this unknown land by laying tiles and placing your people on them. That way you lay claim to areas and resources. As soon as a terrain is fully enclosed, every player with workers along the edge of that area receives the yield. Often several peoples profit at the same time, but of course you want to get more out of it than the rest. With gold you buy cards that you can use in two ways: as a building for a lasting benefit, or as a spell for a one-off effect using crystals. Extra resources can be traded in for prestige, and some buildings provide it all by themselves. The land is fully explored once all the tiles have been laid. Whoever has collected the most prestige by then may call themselves the mightiest people of Pandoria. There is a simple version for an easy start, and an advanced variant with unique powers for each people. A two-hour adventure that brings exploring, building and competing together on the table.
