Publisher: VUCA Simulations
In Operation Theseus: Gazala 1942 you step back into the desert of North Africa, where heavy fighting took place in May and June 1942. This game brings that battle of Gazala to life in a way that will keep you busy for hours. As the player of the Axis forces you want to break the Allied lines and capture key positions, so the road to Egypt lies open. If you play the Allies, you do everything you can to prevent that and stop the attack. The game works in halves. While one player is taking their turn, the other stays sharp and involved. So you are never sitting and waiting; you keep thinking along and react to every move your opponent makes. You feel that tension from start to finish, whether you play a short scenario or take on the full campaign. Operation Theseus: Gazala 1942 is made for two players, but you can also play it solo or in teams. There are three scenarios, including the big campaign. Count on about an hour for the short versions and around ten hours for the complete story. The game uses the same core system as the earlier Crossing the Line from VUCA Simulations, so fans of thoughtful war simulations will feel right at home.
