Publisher: Board & Dice
Experience the wonders of the industrial revolution in the fascinating board game Nucleum. This game immerses you in the economic and technological boom of 19th-century Saxony, sparked by the invention and spread of the Nucleum, a nuclear reactor.
This absorbing game takes you back to the moment Elsa von Frühlingfeld presented her revolutionary invention, the Nucleum, to King Frederick Augustus II of Saxony. Using the recently isolated element uranium, she was able to heat water and use the resulting steam to drive an engine. This innovative process, which she called "atomisation", ushered in a new era of energy and prosperity in the decades that followed.
As a player in Nucleum, you take on the role of an industrialist trying to thrive in this age of prosperity. You earn victory points by developing your networks, building and powering urban buildings, securing contracts and reaching milestones, which act as random end-game goals.
Each player also receives unique asymmetric technologies that unlock special powers. Play flows continuously; players take turns one after another, without rounds or phases. With every move you feel the tension rise and experience the challenges of this new industrial revolution.
Nucleum is more than a board game; it is a journey into the heart of 19th-century technological progress. Are you ready for the challenge?
