Before you head into battle, you choose how to approach a monster. There are five different ways, so every adventure feels different. Then the real work begins. In the fights, everything revolves around your position on the board and working well together. Jump away from a dangerous attack in time and strike as soon as you get the chance. Pay close attention to which of you draws the monster's attention and where you strike. By hitting different parts of a monster, you collect the loot you need for better weapons. On your player board you keep track of your health, your stamina and your gear. Just like in the video game, your weapon defines what kind of hunter you are, with its own deck of cards and upgrades you can swap in through crafting. That gives you stronger attacks and bonuses. During the fight you play cards to make combos, but every attack costs stamina. So keep a close eye on how much you have left, or you will be caught out by a massive blow from the monster.
