Momiji

In Momiji you wander through the imperial garden of ancient Japan, where the trees turn the deepest red and the warmest yellow. Your goal? Collect the prettiest and most valuable autumn leaves. Everyone starts with a handful of leaf cards and three landscape powers that together form your own panorama. That way no two games play exactly the same. On your turn you pick one thing to do. You take all the leaves of one kind from the middle, or you add cards to your own garden, neatly in piles by kind. You build up each pile calmly, until you place a torii gate and close the pile. With acorns you can reveal extra cards, use your landscape power or claim a goal card for yourself. You always have to choose, and that is exactly what makes Momiji so nice to play together. At the end you add up the value of your leaf piles and see who met the goals best. You can play Momiji with two to four players, or simply on your own. A calm, atmospheric game for everyone aged 8 and up that, after half an hour, will have you asking for another round.
