August 1847. Winfield Scott's American army stands at the gates of Mexico City after a string of victories over Santa Anna. But instead of pushing on, Scott pauses to negotiate. Both sides use that breathing space to reposition. When Scott hears a rumour that the Mexicans are casting cannon at Molino del Rey, he decides to take the place. The Mexicans see it coming and prepare their defences. In Molino Del Rey: Gateway to Mexico City you step into the shoes of one of the two armies. The American attack turned into a narrow victory, but cost many men and left the city firmly defended. A faster win might have ended the war right there. Can you do better than the generals of the day? This is a game for two players that will keep you busy for about an hour. You play at regimental level, with a clear map and tiles representing the troops. Perfect for two history fans who want to sit across the table and fight over every hill and every building.
