Mission Red Planet 3rd Edition

Picture the Victorian era, but with its eyes on the stars. Earth is desperate for fuel and raw materials, and the answer is waiting on Mars. Scouts there have found rare ores and ice that could one day make the red planet habitable. You head a mining company and you spot your chance. Whoever reaches the richest spots first will make a fortune. In Mission Red Planet 3rd Edition that is exactly what it is all about: being faster than the rest. Each round you secretly play one of your characters. That card decides when you put astronauts into the rockets and which action you may take. Some characters help you travel across the planet, others happily blow up a rocket before it takes off. Only when someone sets foot in a region does it become clear which resource lies there. Three times during the game the yields are counted, and with your secret mission card up your sleeve you can still score big at the end. This version is for three to five players and takes about an hour. It has new action cards, revised mission and discovery cards and one extra area: the moon Phobos, which you can explore before travelling on to Mars. A game full of secret plans, bold choices and that wonderful moment when the rocket finally lifts off.
