Million Dollar Script

It is that time of year again when the big Hollywood studios are desperate for a new script. Maybe even the next summer blockbuster. Writers are knocking on doors everywhere, dreaming of that one meeting with a powerful studio boss. But the odds of a breakthrough? About one in a million. In Million Dollar Script you play one of those screenwriters who will do anything to land that deal. The game takes place in a fancy Hollywood office. The studio has it all worked out: the perfect hero, the perfect villain and the trusted story structure that has made every top film of the past forty years worth its weight in gold. Two writing teams are invited to pitch their best ideas to the boss, or 'the Exec' for short. You are both working on the same film and take turns coming up with ideas for the five classic story moments. Each round the Exec picks the pitch he likes best. That one becomes part of the story, the other disappears into the bin as if it never existed. Whoever wins the most rounds and scores the most points gets to claim the lucrative writing deal. For three to ten players, so you can play with a big group. Expect plenty of laughs, crazy brainwaves and pitches that get wilder and wilder. A game about building stories together and outdoing each other with the best ideas.
