Machtwechsel

In Machtwechsel you dive into the world of politics. Your mission? Form the German government. That is easier said than done, because everyone at the table wants the same thing. At the start you get two action cards and a starting sum of 'Penunzen'. The rest of the cards form a draw pile, with one card always face up on the table. It is all about collecting the right colours: those of your coalition. Trading, buying, negotiating, anything goes. With event cards you steer the election battle your way and throw a spanner in the works for your opponents. Does your position suddenly feel shaky? Then simply play the 'coalition switch' card and pick a new goal. Once you hold three cards of your colour, you show them and cash in at the bank. Even so, the tension lasts until the very last moment, because someone else's event card can easily wreck your plans. The player who is first to gather enough matching coalition cards wins the game. Machtwechsel is for 2 to 6 players aged 12 and up and takes about 45 minutes. Perfect for an evening full of political squabbling and unexpected twists at the table.
