Publisher: Ken Lowery
You are the lighthouse keeper at the edge of the inhabited world. Around you there is only the sea, the wind and a deserted coast. But you are not truly alone. Loneliness gnaws at you, the weather turns, an old penal colony lies nearby and the dead will not leave you in peace. Every day you wonder how much longer you can hold out. Lighthouse at the End of the World is a solo game in which you write your own story. With a die, a tower of cards or blocks, a deck of cards, a map and a few coins, you discover bit by bit why you ended up here. You record the strange dangers and the daily grind of life in the lighthouse, and slowly you learn more about the ghosts who keep you company. By the end you will have written not only your own story, but also that of the souls who perished here before you. The game is built on the well-known Wretched & Alone system, with four possible endings and dozens of variants. So every game plays differently and you experience a new story each time. The beautiful black-and-white illustrations are by artist Sally Cantirino. An atmospheric 32-page zine, made for losing yourself completely in a world of its own.
