Le Roy des Ribauds

Le Roy des Ribauds takes you to medieval France, to a world full of kings, queens, knights and assassins. This card game is based on the well-known comic series by Vincent Brugeas and Ronan Toulhoat. At the start you get three cards in hand, and between you lies a row of four face-down cards: the Court. On your turn you either flip a card at the Court face up, or you play a card from your hand and replace a card that is already there. Play it face up and you use its effect right away. Play it face down and your plans stay secret for a while. Every character has its own power, and the king, the queen and the assassin each have their own way to win. Whoever completes such a plot first takes the victory. The rules are quick to explain, but under the surface the tension keeps building. In about fifteen minutes you watch each other closely and secretly plan your next move. Perfect for two players who enjoy a short, sharp battle.
