La Familia Hort

Grandma Hortensia was a remarkable woman. She owned the land of a somewhat peculiar farming family, but when she died, she left no will. One night the moon turns reddish and Grandma appears again, this time as a ghost. She wants to put her four grandchildren to the test. She comes by three times, always by the light of the red moon. Whoever has become the finest farmer after those three visits inherits all her land. In La Familia Hort it is all about managing your money, your water and your manure well. You play in rounds, and each round has its own card that decides what happens. You buy crops, animals and tools at the market, you spread manure over your own fields or those of your opponents, and you give your plants and animals just enough water. Keep an eye on the weather, because it determines how much water you have. At the end you sell your harvest for coins and experience. It is a game for the whole family, in which you sit together at the table puzzling, trading and sometimes getting in each other's way a little. When the third red moon appears, Grandma comes by for the last time. Who will have gathered the most experience by then and may call themselves the proud heir of the farm?
