Hooky

It is morning, school is about to start and there is still some chatter on the playground. Of the 26 children who should be in class today, three have secretly skipped school. As the class teacher, you have one task: figure out who is missing. The latecomers trickle in slowly, so you learn a little more bit by bit. In Hooky you work together as detectives. Each child stands for a letter of the alphabet. Everyone gets a few cards and so already knows which children are definitely not missing. To solve the riddle, you ask each other for clues using five-letter words. The person being asked only says how many of those letters they hold, but not which ones. That way you puzzle your way step by step towards the three truants. You earn points by correctly guessing the three missing children. You also score by finding out which pupils are in the classes of your fellow players. Feel like taking a gamble? You may, but it takes nerve.
