Helsinki

This edition is in German, English, French and Dutch. In the middle of the city lies the famous Senate Square, surrounded by beautiful buildings such as the university, the cathedral and the Sederholm House. In Helsinki you get a lovely job: rebuild the market by connecting pavilions across the square. That way you keep the strollers dry when it rains, and you collect as many points as you can along the way. This game comes from the same team that made Copenhagen, but it goes one step further. On your turn you move your pawn across the central board and either take cards or build. You have a hand of seven cards, and that is all you get. Where do you place your pieces? When do you play which card? Every choice counts. If you want to build a pavilion, you play a card with the shape you are after and add cards of the same colour. Then you slide the piece onto your own board, exactly from the side where your pawn stands. Cover the right spots and you earn coat of arms tokens that let you take powerful actions. You score points by completing rows and columns. Whoever has the most points at the end may call themselves the best master builder of Senate Square!
