In the Countless Kingdoms one truth is heard everywhere: misery is coming. From the frozen regions to the nasty quarrels between noble families, sooner or later everyone gets their share of bad luck. In Gloom of Thrones you take charge of such a family, full of kings, knights, lost heirs and half-forgotten maidservants. You guide them through a life of drama and make sure things end badly for them. Because that is exactly the point. What makes this card game special is the cards themselves. They are made of transparent plastic, so you can lay several cards on top of each other. That way you pile one misfortune on another and still see exactly what is happening to your characters. One time someone is thrown from a tower, another time a family gathering gets horribly out of hand. Meanwhile you try to make the families of your fellow players happy with cheerful moments, because that works in your favour. The goal is surprising: the player whose family suffers the most misery wins. The sadder the story, the better you are doing. With a hefty dose of dark humour and sharp storylines, every game becomes a hilarious drama that you experience together at the table.
