In Gateway: Uprising you step into the shoes of a rebel wizard. You have just one goal: retake the Great City of Gateway. Everyone starts with the same basics, a handful of wizards, a few merchants and a magical Rune Stone. From that moment on, you choose your own path. You recruit new wizards, heroes and magical creatures and step by step build an army to free the city's districts. Do you control a district? Then you gain access to a special power. Think cheaper resources, extra defence or the option to strike your enemies from a distance. Do watch out, because you are not the only one who wants the city. Other rebels are eyeing your districts, and meanwhile the troops of Chancellor Gideon and a horde of hideous monsters, the Drueggar, are heading your way. Your Rune Stones help you in battle. They are powerful single-use spells that can turn a fight around in one blow. But once used they are gone and they leave the game for good. You win by collecting as many victory points as possible. You do that by defeating the city guard and the Drueggar, controlling important districts or using the special powers you recruit along the way. And do not dawdle, because if the Drueggar take control of all the districts, the game is over. Not only for you, but also for all the innocent inhabitants of Gateway.
