Long ago, garum was a salted fish sauce that people loved. The sauce from what is now Portugal and Spain was especially prized in Rome. That is exactly the story that comes to life in Garum, a game in which you play a master maker of your own kind of fish sauce. Everyone gets their own colour and tries to show it off as much as possible. You take turns placing tiles on the board. Each tile has four squares with four colours in different amounts, but your colour always has the upper hand. It is all about placing your tiles cleverly, so that you collect the most symbols of your own colour in the right rows and columns. The bigger your influence, the more points you score. And with a bit of luck you can nicely get in your opponent's way. Garum is for 2 to 4 players and takes about 40 minutes. The board is different every time, so no two games play out the same. You do not need any language to play, which also makes it great for the whole family from age 8 up. A nice and accessible game that still makes you think hard about your next move.
