His writings shaped Western thinking about medicine for more than thirteen hundred years. No one dared to contradict him. Do you? Galenus is a worker placement game with a surprising twist. You prepare up to six actions and then decide yourself when and how to carry them out. While you are already busy carrying out actions, another player can still be quietly planning. You choose your own path: take on patients and treat them to gather knowledge about the humours, publish books about what you have learned, collect herbs for your work, relax in the baths or embrace a new philosophy. At the end of each year, everything revolves around the medical contests. You use your knowledge and concentration to win prestige. Whoever publishes enough famous works, or makes the biggest impression on Galen in another way, earns his respect and may enter his inner circle.
