Step back in time to Italy in the early twentieth century. You are a cheesemaker with your own farm, where you craft, age and sell artisan cheeses. Your dream? To become the most respected cheesemaker in all of Italy. To do that, you need to run your dairy like a well-oiled machine and make cheeses people dream about. In Formaggio, all players place their workers at the same time to make cheese and gather resources on the section of the board in front of them. Once everyone is done, the board rotates. Your cheese ages further and a new section of the board arrives in front of you. You earn points by selling your cheese in four places and by expanding your dairy cleverly. Whoever plans best and makes the right choices comes out on top. The game is full of new puzzles to discover. Pair your cheese with wines at the Vigneto, sell to restaurants along the Venetian canals, spread your cheese across the regions of Italy or bring it to the Banca (and yes, there really is a bank in Italy that accepts cheese as collateral for a loan!). There are platinum cheeses, changing rewards each season and new abilities. Formaggio is a standalone expansion for Fromage, but it also plays perfectly well on its own. Put both games together and you can combine four board sections of your choice, opening up even more paths to victory.
