Flight of Icarus

Picture this: you climb high into the sky, like an eagle that wants to be free. King Minos wants to keep you locked up, but you spread your wings and look for a way across. Still, flying is not without danger. Go too high and the sun melts the wax that holds your feathers together. Stay too low and the sea water makes your wings heavy, dragging you down. In Flight of Icarus you live out the ancient myth yourself. The game falls into two parts. First you gather wax and feathers using an action point system. You build your wings step by step and choose cleverly how to spend your resources. You can also play special cards that help you later in the air. Then you take off and the exciting flight from Crete to mainland Greece begins. You battle the weather, but also your fellow players. Whoever wins the favour of the oracle gets to play weather cards and act first. Flight of Icarus mixes strategic puzzling with a good dose of getting in each other's way. You do not need any language to play, so everyone can join in right away. And even if you do not reach the other side yourself, you always stay in the game. That way you can still block your opponents before they reach the safe shore. An adventure for two to four players that brings plenty of excitement to the table.
