Fisheries of Gloucester

Welcome to the harbour of Gloucester, the beating heart of the fishing industry in nineteenth-century New England. The quays are packed with tough men and women ready for hard work at sea. In Fisheries of Gloucester you gather your crew, board your schooners and cast out the nets. Whoever brings in the most fish sails straight to victory. The game lasts six 'days', and each day you have a set number of hours to spend. You plot your course by laying out sea tiles in all sorts of shapes. Then you send your three boats along that route and race your opponent to the best fishing spots. Every choice counts, because the clock is ticking and the sea is wide. You earn points by catching different kinds of fish and by mooring at one of the islands at the end. Fisheries of Gloucester is made for two players and takes about forty-five minutes. Just enough time to head out together and find out who is the better skipper.
