Explore the mysterious underwater world in Finspan, a game in which you play as a marine biologist and combine deep-sea exploration with clever planning. From the colourful Sunlight Zone to the dark depths of the Midnight Zone, you search for special fish species and map their behaviour.
Over four weeks you dive ever deeper, discover new fish and develop ecosystems. Lay eggs, hatch young and form schools to expand your research. But watch out: every choice affects your next dives, and only the player with the most valuable observations wins the battle for knowledge and prestige!
In Finspan you play over four weeks, with each round consisting of six turns. You have two options per turn: add a new fish to your ocean or make a dive to gain extra benefits.
By making the right combinations and anticipating future dives, you build the most diverse and valuable underwater world. Whoever has collected the most points at the end of the four weeks through fish, eggs, young and schools wins!
1. Build a balanced ecosystem
Collecting different fish is important, but focus on a good balance between fish, eggs and young. Too much of one type can make your strategy vulnerable, while a well-spread ocean gives you several scoring options.
2. Plan your dives wisely
Every dive offers powerful benefits, but choosing the right moment is crucial. Think ahead and save dives for moments when they pay off most, for example when you have just added a strong fish or are ready to hatch young.
3. Watch the scoring conditions
Points are earned through fish, eggs, young, schools and special achievements. Adjust your strategy based on the available bonuses and goals. Sometimes it is better to develop a small group strongly than to collect lots of fish at random.
4. Watch your opponents
Pay close attention to what others are doing. If an opponent is collecting a lot of young, it can be smart to choose dives that limit them. Anticipating other players' strategies gives you an edge.
5. Use bonuses effectively
Some fish give benefits such as drawing extra cards or more diving options. Use these bonuses at the right moment to boost your efficiency and score faster than your opponents.
6. Do not let chances slip by
Every turn is valuable. If you do not see a clear move, look for ways to gain a long-term advantage, such as setting up a strong dive in a later round. Good preparation can make the difference between winning and just falling short!
