Climb into the cockpit and experience the thrilling air battles over the Pacific during the Second World War. In Fighters of the Pacific you command whole squadrons of fighters and bombers to attack your opponent's aircraft carriers and island bases. No dice, no measuring sticks, just dozens of planes and ships ready for battle. You move each plane separately across a board made of hexagons. Get an enemy aircraft in your sights and it has to try to evade or it takes damage. Some planes carry bombs and torpedoes to blow up ships and installations on the ground. Keep flying in formation to hold the initiative and stay on top of your opponent. Every aircraft has its own stats for speed, armour and special powers, and every illustration is drawn as close as possible to the real historical model. The game is for one or two players and takes about two hours. You get a large board that you put together yourself, four aircraft carriers, four destroyers, piles of aircraft and game tokens, and eight reference cards. The full rules and ten scenarios are in the box too. The ships and planes represent real forces from 1942, including the Japanese Akagi and Kaga and the American USS Hornet and USS Yorktown. Enough to keep you flying over the ocean for hours.
