Picture this: you take a card with a dreamy image and search for exactly the right word. Not too easy, not too hard. The others at the table try to guess which card is yours. That is the heart of Dixit Odyssey, a game in which imagination and feeling call the shots. There is no right or wrong, only your own way of looking at a beautifully drawn image. Each turn, one player is the storyteller. You secretly choose a card and give a word, a sentence or even a song to go with it. The others pick a card from their hand that they think matches. All the cards are turned face up on the table and then it is time to vote: which one was the storyteller's? If everyone guesses right, or nobody does, the storyteller scores nothing. So it is all about that golden middle ground, just enough of a clue to put some players on the right track. Dixit Odyssey is played with three to twelve players, so larger groups can join in too. Ages 8 and up, and done in about half an hour. Perfect for an evening full of surprising answers, laughter and that one clue nobody saw coming. You can play it on its own or use it as an expansion for the original Dixit.
