In Deadly Dowagers you step into the world of the Victorian era, where wealth, marriage and a hefty dose of intrigue go hand in hand. You play a middle-class woman with only one dream: to become a duchess. The trouble is, you were not born into the nobility. The only way to win over a nobleman is by building up an impressive dowry. And sometimes that involves an unfortunate husband who meets his end just a little too soon. You earn money by investing and through well-timed marriages. But watch out: if you draw too much attention, the duke will rather look for another bride. Each round runs through four phases. You collect cards by passing them to the lady next to you, you invest, you marry and you put your household in order. Behind those polite words hides a game full of calculation, in which you have to sense exactly when to make your move and when to wait a little longer. Suitable for 2 to 6 players aged 14 and up, with a playing time of about 90 minutes. An evening of chuckling, scheming and getting in each other's way, with just that touch of black humour that makes this game so special. Who will be the first to collect enough crowns and marry the duke?
