Bouba / Kiki

Say it out loud: bouba. And now: kiki. Chances are you pictured something round for bouba, and something with sharp points for kiki. That is no coincidence. People all over the world feel the same link between sounds and shapes, no matter which language they speak. Bouba / Kiki builds a game on that surprising fact, a game you play together and win together. You work as a team. The cards have a made-up word on one side and a simple drawing on the other. In the basic version you choose which word fits a shape best. You score points by choosing the same as your fellow players. It sounds simple, but sensing what the others think is exactly what makes it exciting. What does your gut say, and do the others feel the same way? The box holds six stories, each with five tasks that get a little harder every time. One time you are a space traveller making contact with an alien people, another time you are a medium looking at the world behind things, or you play as toddlers together at daycare. For three to eight players and a lovely way to fill an evening.
