Blood on the Clocktower
During a hellish thunderstorm, at the stroke of midnight, a chilling scream resounds. The townspeople rush to investigate and find the town narrator murdered, his body impaled on the hands of the clock tower, blood dripping onto the paving stones below. A demon is on the loose, killing at night and disguised in human form by day. Some have bits of information. Others have abilities that fight evil or protect the innocent. But the demon and his evil henchmen spread lies to cause confusion and arouse suspicion. Will the good townspeople be able to put the puzzle together in time to execute the true demon and save themselves? Or will evil engulf this once peaceful village?
Blood on the Clocktower is a bluff game for 5 to 20 players in opposing teams of Good and Evil, overseen by a Storyteller player who leads the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal of the game is to successfully distract and execute the demons before they outnumber the townspeople.
During a "day" phase, players socialize openly and whisper privately to exchange knowledge or spread lies, culminating in the execution of a player if a majority suspects he is evil. In a "night" time, players close their eyes and are awakened one by one by the storyteller to gather information, spread mischief or kill.
The Storyteller uses the game's intricate playing pieces to guide each game, allowing others to play freely without a table or board. Players stay in the middle of the action until the end, even as their characters are killed, chasing Ravenswood Bluff like ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave.
If you arrive late to a game, after it has started you can join as a powerful Traveller character with unusual talents and questionable loyalties. Each character has its own special ability and no two players in a game are ever the same character
