Bites

Bites turns the usual rules upside down. You do not control your own ants here: everyone moves all the ants across the board together. Each turn you push an ant forward, grab the food next to it and try to reach the anthill at the right moment. What a move gives you depends on who arrives first. So you help yourself, but sometimes you play right into your opponent's hands without noticing. The great thing is that every choice matters. The points for each kind of food keep shifting, so you have to keep watching, thinking along and adjusting in time. Work together when it suits you, or quietly spoil someone else's plans. A game is played within twenty minutes, but the tension and the little schemes make it surprisingly tricky. Thanks to the separate rule cards and the changing setup, every game feels different. One time it is all about speed, the next time about patience and timing. That way you keep discovering new tactics and never play two identical games. Ideal for families and fans of short, challenging games at the table.
