Above and Below

Your previous village went up in flames. With the baby on your back and your favourite fishing rod in your hand, you fled. Across a cruel desert, past frozen mountain tops and even on a log over a wild sea, with sharks coming far too close. And then you found it: the perfect spot for a new beginning. But as soon as the first hut was standing, you discovered something underground. A huge network of caves full of glittering treasures and adventure you had never heard of before. In Above and Below you build a village together with up to three friends, both above and below ground. You send your villagers out to explore caves, harvest resources and build houses. Every villager can do something different, so you always have to choose who you use for what. Do you take Hanna along on an expedition, or would you rather give her the time to teach a young villager a thing or two? Every decision counts. The best part is underground. If you head into the depths with a small group, a fellow player reads aloud from a book full of stories about what happens to you down there. You get to choose how you react, and a lot depends on who you brought along and who you dare to sacrifice. The story is different every time. At the end of the game, the player with the best developed village wins. Will you build a village strong enough to chase the barbarians away next time?
