More than five thousand years ago, a handful of brave farmers and hunters built a community on the windy Orkney Islands in the north of Scotland. Instead of throwing away their waste, they used shells, bones and broken tools to form huge earthen mounds, the foundation for underground houses that gave shelter from storms and cold.
In Skara Brae you step into the shoes of these ancient settlement builders. Gather resources to feed, clothe and protect your people. But watch out: every round leaves traces behind. Rubbish piles up, and you have to clear it away to survive.
Turn cards, place your workers cleverly and build your civilisation stone by stone. Cooking, building, trading and cleaning: every action brings you closer to victory. But do not forget to look after your people, or nature will turn against you.
After four rounds, the player who makes the smartest choices and develops their settlement best wins. Prehistoric, but surprisingly modern!
