Seven brave samurai stand ready to defend a small village. At their side are a handful of frightened farmers, and that is all they have. On the other side the bandits are lurking, hungry for rice and out to destroy. In Seven Swords you choose which side you play. Will you defend the village with honour and courage, or lead the raiders who take everything that is not nailed down? This is a game for exactly two players, each with their own role. One player commands the seven samurai and the villagers and tries to hold off the attack. The other takes charge of the bandits and goes raiding through the village. For eighteen turns you fight over the rice and over the most points. The bandit player deploys infantry, archers and riders, while the samurai player chooses between action tokens to attack, to move or to let the farmers join the fight. Every choice counts, because the more the samurai do, the more room the bandits get. No two games feel the same. Before the game starts, the samurai player decides where the villagers, fences, bows and rice barns go. With a double-sided board full of different village layouts, it stays exciting every time. You can attack from a distance with bows, dig in behind fences and strike at just the right moment. Two players, two sides, one village where everything is at stake.
