Welcome to the sleepy town of San Andreas, somewhere in California. The local road builder has put you in charge of one of his crews. Your task sounds simple: lay as many fine roads around the town as you can. There is just one small problem with this place. The ground here loves to shake, and with every earthquake part of your freshly laid asphalt can simply vanish. In Seismic you take turns placing hexagonal road tiles. That way you build long, unbroken stretches of highway. Every tile scores points, and the junctions at the end of your route give an extra reward. But hold off on cheering, because scoring only happens at the very end. At any moment the earth can start to shake, and then the tiles fall in the direction where the most has been built, measured from the centre of town. That is where the tension lies. You want to claim as many long roads for yourself as possible, but you also have to make sure your highway is not the first to lie in ruins when the next quake comes. For two to four players aged ten and up, and in about three quarters of an hour you will know who keeps the most road standing.
