Picture this: it is the sixteenth century and your ship is sailing along the coasts of Northern Europe. Everywhere you go, towns are waiting with goods to buy and sell. In Seas of Fortune you are the merchant in charge. You choose the best routes, look for the right crew and try to be the first one in the harbour. Because whoever unloads their goods fastest earns the most silver. Every round, all players pick a new crew for their ship. And that takes some thinking. One crew is strong on the open sea, another does better along the coast. Pick a low number and you sail first, but the highest number takes its turn last. That makes the choice exciting. The last player has to make do with the crew that is left over, so do not be late. The loading and unloading cards show you exactly which towns buy and sell what, and you even get a peek at what is coming up next. Seas of Fortune is a family game for 2 to 4 players aged 8 and up and takes about 45 minutes. As soon as someone reaches one hundred silver pieces, the end is in sight. Whoever has the most money then wins. A lovely game for sailing the seas together at the table and finding out who has the best merchant on board.
