Root: A Game of Woodland Might & Right
Root is a game of adventure and war in which 2 to 4 (1 to 6 with the "Riverfolk" expansion) players compete for control of a vast wilderness. In Root, each player has unique skills and a different victory condition. With beautiful, multi-purpose cards, truly asymmetric design has never been more accessible.
The story of Root
The nefarious Marquis the Cat has seized the great forest, intent on harvesting its riches. Under her rule, the many creatures of the forest have united. This Alliance will seek to strengthen its resources and undermine the Cat's rule. In this effort, the Alliance may enlist the help of wandering Vagabonds who can move through the more dangerous forest trails. Although some sympathize with the Alliance's hopes and dreams, these vagabonds are old enough to remember the great birds of prey that once ruled ...
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the region, the proud, bickering Eyrie have found a new commander whom they hope will lead their faction to take back their ancient birthright. The stage is set for a contest that will decide the fate of the great forest. It is up to the players to decide which group will finally take root (Root).
In Root, players determine the story, and the differences between each role provide an unparalleled level of interaction and replayability.
