In Rogue State you step all alone into the shoes of the Supreme Leader of North Korea, right after the Korean War. From 1953 onwards you guide your country through time, all the way to the year 2030. Your big goal sounds simple, but it is extremely hard: survive. Stay in power, keep your regime standing and try to get as much grip as possible on your own country and the world around it. Each turn covers about seven years. In that time you divide a tight state budget, build up heavy industry and invest in farming, roads and the army. You maintain ties with allies, keep your ministers in line and react to events that can hit you out of nowhere: uprisings, coups or foreign threats. Meanwhile you scrape together technology for your nuclear weapons programme and put pressure on your enemies. And if you really must, you give the order to attack. It is all about weighing things up, judging risks and picking the right moment. This is a game for the player who loves depth and enjoys spending an evening alone at the table with a tough challenge. A game takes about two hours, so you really have the room to disappear into the world of Rogue State. Do you have what it takes to steer your country through almost eighty years of history?
