Rack-O

Rack-O is a true classic that has been hitting tables since 1956. The idea is delightfully simple: everyone gets a handful of numbered cards in a handy rack and tries to get them in the right order, from low to high. Sounds easy? Just wait until you start. On your turn you draw a card, from the deck or from the discard pile, and see whether it fits. If it doesn't, you discard it again. Bit by bit you swap the wrong cards for the right ones and work towards that perfect row from slot 1 to 10. Managed it? Then you shout "Rack-O!" out loud and score points. Several rounds follow, until someone has collected enough points. This is the kind of game you just play together, with children from 8 years old or simply with friends at the kitchen table. Easy to explain, but just exciting enough to make you want one more round. Before you know it, you are all watching to see who completes that row first.
