Publisher: Z-Man Games
This is the Dutch-language edition. Try to get your love letter to the princess. To do that you need help from the staff. And opponents who do not get in your way...
A short, tactical bluffing game with just a handful of cards. This quick game was one of the hits at the Essen game fair in 2012. Although the rules are very simple, there is more depth to it than you would guess at first glance.
At the start you get 1 card with a character that has a special ability. On your turn you draw a card and must play one of your 2 cards. As the Guard, for example, you may guess which card someone is holding. If you are right, that player is out.
The Handmaid protects you against this sort of thing. The Countess does nothing, but you must discard her if you also have the King or the Prince in your hand.
So every character has its own advantages and disadvantages. Once the cards run out, the game is over. Do you have the card with the highest value in your hand? Then you win the game. You also win if you are the only player left.
Thanks to the simple rules you are playing within 1 minute. After one game you will notice you want to play again straight away. Super addictive!
This new version of Love Letter features new artwork by Andrew Bosley and two new characters, the Chancellor and the Spy, so the game can be played with up to 6 players. With this new version you can also play the classic version of the game, which is for 2 to 4 players only.

The video below shows how to play the game. Please note: the game has since been given a new edition, so it looks different, but it plays just as well!
