Lords of Waterdeep

The beautiful city of Waterdeep - one of the most beautiful places in the Forgotten Realms - is a place full of political intrigue and secret schemes.

In the board game Lords of Waterdeep, you take on the role of a powerful Lord who wants to take control of the city. There is plenty of wealth to be earned, but you have to be smart to grab it!

Lord of Waterdeep is an exciting and challenging board game in which you take on the role of a secret ruler of the city of Waterdeep. The game is completely in the style of Dungeons & Dragons!

The goal? Collect adventurers, complete quests and defeat your opponents with clever strategies. But beware: every choice counts, and you only have limited resources to carry out your plans!

How do you play Lords of Waterdeep?

Each round you get a handful of actions, but the choices are endless. Do you seek out adventurers to complete quests? Do you play Intrigue cards to sabotage your opponents? Or do you try to get the First Player marker so you get to start first in the next round? Maybe you build a building to gain an advantage later when other players use it. Every decision has consequences, and you must plan smartly to win.

Strategy and Quests

The core of the game revolves around completing quests. At the beginning of the game you are assigned a secret Lord, who determines what types of quests will earn you bonus points at the end of the game. But beware: the quests that are available change during the game. Sometimes it is difficult to make the most of your bonus.

Quests require different types of resources, such as gold or adventurers. The more resources a quest requires, the greater the reward. Still, it's often smarter to complete several small quests that suit your Lord, so that you gain those bonus points. Plan ahead well so you never run out of the right adventurers or gold!

Tips and Tricks

A useful strategy is to send at least one agent to Waterdeep Harbor. Here you can not only play an Intrigue card, but also redeploy your agent at the end of the round. With any luck, this will give you both extra resources and an advantage over your opponents. But beware: playing too many Intrige cards can backfire, as you collect fewer resources than when using buildings on the board.
